Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Choose a suitable location in your garden. Ensure the ground is level.
- Due to the arch's weight (30.5kg), it is recommended that two or more people handle the arch during assembly and placement.
- Insert the 1-foot long ground spikes into the soil to the desired depth. The upright bars of the arch will then slide onto these spikes.
- Ensure the arch is firmly seated on the spikes and vertically aligned before proceeding.
- For added stability, especially in windy areas or when supporting heavy plants, consider further securing the base (e.g., with additional stakes or by embedding the spikes in concrete - consult with a professional if unsure).
Compatibility:
This arch is designed to support climbing plants such as roses, wisteria, honeysuckle, clematis, and ivy. It is also compatible with garden lighting, such as fairy lights, for decorative purposes.
Care:
To maintain its appearance and longevity:
- Clean the arch periodically with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, which can damage the finish.
- The steel construction is inherently weather-resistant, but occasional checks for any surface rust or damage are recommended, particularly at joints. Minor surface rust can typically be treated with appropriate metal polish or paint if desired.
