The gate is crafted from quality clear pine timber.
No, the gate is supplied unfinished, allowing you to treat, paint, or stain it yourself.
You should apply a suitable wood preservative, stain, or paint to the timber before installing it outdoors. Regular reapplication will be needed.
The fixed, stapled braces provide extra strength to the gate and help maintain its shape over time, preventing warping or sagging.
This gate is primarily designed for garden boundaries or shed access. For main entrances, ensure its dimensions and security features meet your requirements.
The MPN for this gate is GATE36A.
It is constructed using tongue and groove boarding for a strong and stable design.
Ensure the stapled braces are secure. If significant warping occurs, it may indicate insufficient or absent wood treatment. Reapply protective finish and check brace security.
This is likely due to inadequate or overdue wood treatment. Apply a quality wood preservative and ensure all surfaces, especially end grains, are thoroughly coated. Regular maintenance is key.
Verify that the gate posts are plumb and secure. Ensure hinges are correctly spaced and aligned with the gate's top and bottom rails. Check that the gate is not binding against the ground or posts.
Setup: This gate is designed for straightforward installation with standard gate hardware (hinges, latches), sold separately. Ensure you have appropriate posts and fixings suitable for the weight and size of the gate.
Compatibility: While designed as an external garden or shed gate, its dimensions should be checked against the opening intended. It is compatible with most standard gate hardware.
Care: As the gate is supplied unfinished, it is crucial to apply a suitable wood preservative, stain, or paint *before* exposure to the elements to protect the timber from moisture, UV rays, and decay. Regular inspection and reapplication of the chosen finish will be necessary, typically annually or as recommended by the finish manufacturer, to maintain its condition and appearance.
