FloPlast Cast Iron Effect Hi-Cap Gutter Fascia Bracket - 115mm x 75mm
Fascia brackets, also known as gutter brackets or gutter clips, are the main supports for the gutt...Fascia brackets, also known as gutter brackets or gutter clips, are the main supports for the gutter system. The bracket is screwed to the fascia board using two countersunk screws (we recommend 5 x 25mm or 5 x 30mm). The gutter is then clipped in place by first sliding the back edge in under the rear clip and pulling gently down on the front edge to clip the gutter into position. Deepflow fascia brackets should be spaced at a maximum of 1m centres, although if you live in an area that is prone to heavy snowfall we suggest reducing the centres to a maximum of 800mm and even as close together as 400mm - heavy, regular snowfall snow does exert a large load on a gutter. FAQs
What is the recommended spacing for these fascia brackets?
The standard recommendation is a maximum of 1m (1000mm) centers. However, in areas prone to heavy snowfall, it is advised to reduce this spacing to a maximum of 800mm, or even as close as 400mm, to support the extra weight.
What type of screws should I use to install the bracket?
We recommend using two countersunk screws, specifically 5 x 25mm or 5 x 30mm, for securing the bracket to the fascia board.
Does the bracket come with all necessary fixings?
The bracket comes with a pre-fitted gutter seal retaining clip. However, you will need to provide your own suitable countersunk screws for mounting the bracket to the fascia board.
Is this bracket suitable for all types of gutter systems?
This bracket is specifically designed for FloPlast Hi-Cap gutter systems and is suitable for high flow capacity applications. It may not be compatible with other brands or types of gutters.
How do I clean the cast iron effect finish?
The cast iron effect finish can typically be cleaned with a damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
Can these brackets be used on older properties?
Yes, the cast iron effect finish can provide a traditional aesthetic that complements older properties. Ensure the fascia board is sound for secure installation.
Troubleshooting
Gutter does not clip securely into the bracket
Ensure the back edge of the gutter is fully engaged in the rear clip before attempting to clip the front edge. Check for any obstructions or debris in the bracket or gutter.
Bracket appears loose after installation
Verify that the correct type and length of screws (5 x 25mm or 5 x 30mm countersunk) were used and tightened securely into the fascia board. Ensure the fascia board itself is sound and provides adequate fixing strength.
Water pooling or leaking at bracket points
Check that the gutter seal retaining clip is properly engaged and holding the seal firmly. Inspect the gutter and bracket for any cracks or damage that might cause leaks. Ensure the gutter has the correct fall towards the downpipe.
