Product Information

Full details

The Flopro Watering Can - 7.5L is designed for gardeners seeking a more convenient and mess-free way to water plants, especially in pots and containers. Its key benefit lies in its easy-fill design that connects directly to a hosepipe, eliminating spills. A potential caveat is that it relies on hosepipe connectivity for its primary filling method, which may be less convenient for those without easy hose access. Key features include a flip-top spray head for versatile watering, comfortable handles for portability, and a large opening for direct filling from water butts or tanks.

FAQs

How do I switch between spray and pour modes?

Simply flip the mechanism on the spray head. One position provides a rose spray, and the other offers a direct pour.

Can I use this watering can without a hose?

Yes, you can fill it manually from a water butt, pond, or tap using the large top opening. However, the primary benefit is its direct hose-filling capability.

What is the purpose of the large hole at the back?

The large hole is designed for easy filling directly from a water butt by submerging it. It also serves as a convenient place to store the rose spray head when not in use.

Is this watering can suitable for applying liquid fertilizer?

The watering can is primarily designed for water. While the pour function could be used for some liquid feeds, it's best to check the compatibility of your specific fertilizer with plastic watering cans and ensure thorough rinsing afterward.

How do I ensure a quick and clean fill from my tap?

Use a short piece of hose connected to your tap via a hose connector and a stop connector. This allows you to fill the can quickly at the point of use and disconnect cleanly.

What maintenance does the watering can require?

Rinse and empty the can after each use. Periodically clean it with a damp cloth and ensure the spray head is free of debris. Store it in a suitable location away from harsh weather.

Troubleshooting

Water spills during filling from hose

Ensure the hose connector and stop connector are securely attached to both the hose and the can. Check that the stop connector is fully closed before filling and released fully when disconnecting.

Spray head is blocked or not spraying evenly

Remove the spray head and rinse it under running water. Check for any debris lodged in the holes and clear them with a soft brush or pin.

Water not flowing freely from the pour spout

Ensure the flip-top mechanism is fully switched to the 'pour' position. Check the spout opening for any blockages.

Handles feel uncomfortable or unstable

Ensure you are gripping the handles correctly. The design is intended for balanced carrying when the can is full.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly reduces mess and spills during filling compared to traditional watering cans.
Offers flexible watering options with the flip-top spray head (rose or pour).
Easy to fill directly from a hose, saving time and effort.
Comfortable to handle and transport thanks to its design and capacity.
Adaptable for various water sources, including water butts and tap connections.

Cons

Requires a hosepipe and compatible connectors for its primary filling method.
The 7.5L capacity might be too small for very large gardens or extensive watering tasks.
May require a short feeder hose section for optimal filling from hose reels or carts.
The flip-top mechanism, while convenient, is an additional part that could potentially wear over time.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup for Hose Filling:

Attach a hose connector to your garden hose.
Connect a stop connector to the hose connector. This allows you to turn the water on and off easily.
Attach a short piece of hose (if needed) to the stop connector, then connect this to the Flopro Can-Can's filling point.
Turn on the tap, fill the can, and disconnect quickly using the stop connector.

Compatibility:

Designed to work with standard garden hose connectors. A stop connector is recommended for ease of use.
Compatible with water butts, ponds, and tanks for filling.

Care:

After use, empty any remaining water.
Clean the can periodically with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
Store in a dry place, preferably out of direct sunlight, to prolong its lifespan.
Ensure the flip-top spray head is clean and free of debris for optimal function.
