Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Clean the Surface: Ensure the surface to be covered is clean, dry, and smooth. Remove any dust, grease, or old adhesive.
- Measure and Cut: Measure the area and cut the vinyl film to size, allowing for a slight overlap.
- Peel and Apply: Gently peel back a small section of the backing paper.
- Position and Smooth: Carefully position the vinyl and begin to smooth it onto the surface, working from the center outwards to prevent air bubbles. Use a squeegee or a soft cloth.
- Continue Application: Gradually peel off the backing paper while continuing to smooth the vinyl onto the surface.
- Trim Excess: Trim any excess material with a sharp craft knife.
Compatibility:
This vinyl is suitable for application on smooth, non-porous surfaces such as laminate, painted wood, metal, and glass. It is not recommended for rough, textured, or freshly painted surfaces where adhesion may be compromised.
Care:
- Clean using a soft cloth dampened with warm water and mild soap.
- Wipe dry with a clean cloth.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can damage the finish.
Removal:
- Gently warm the vinyl with a hairdryer on a low setting.
- Carefully peel back the film at a shallow angle.
- Any remaining adhesive residue can typically be removed with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.
