Setup, Compatibility & Care
Planting:
- Select a sunny, sheltered position in your garden or on a patio.
- Ensure the soil is free-draining. If planting in a container, use a good quality potting mix amended with grit or perlite to improve drainage.
- If planting in the ground, dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and to the same depth. Mix some compost into the soil before planting.
- Water thoroughly after planting.
Compatibility:
'Tiny Pampa' is compatible with most garden settings, particularly suitable for:
- Small to medium-sized gardens
- Container gardening on patios, balconies, and terraces
- Borders for added height and structure
- Gravel gardens or areas with good drainage
Care:
- Watering: Water regularly during the first growing season to help establish the plant. Once established, it is relatively drought-tolerant but benefits from watering during prolonged dry spells.
- Feeding: Generally, it does not require heavy feeding. A light application of a balanced fertilizer in spring can be beneficial.
- Pruning: Cut back the dead foliage and flower stalks in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. This encourages vigorous new growth and prevents the plant from looking untidy.
- Pest & Disease: Generally pest and disease-free. Ensure good air circulation and avoid waterlogged conditions.
