Troubleshooting

Guard slips down during riding

Ensure the skin is clean and dry before putting them on, and verify that the extra-wide top gripper is placed directly on the skin rather than over clothing.

Fabric irritation during use

Ensure the guard is properly sized for the rider. If irritation persists, consider wearing a thin base layer underneath to reduce friction.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Certified CE-1621-1 impact protection
Machine washable for easy maintenance
Low-profile design fits easily under riding gear
Extended shin coverage increases safety area
Lightweight and breathable for all-day comfort

Cons

Specific fit required for effective protection
Less abrasion resistance than rigid plastic shell guards
Designed primarily for youth riders

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To achieve the best results, ensure the guard is pulled snugly over the knee and shin, positioning the center of the SmartFlex pad directly over the patella. The extra-wide top gripper should sit comfortably on the lower thigh to prevent slipping during movement. These guards are fully machine washable; however, it is recommended to wash them on a gentle cycle and hang them to dry to preserve the integrity of the compression fabric and gripper elastic. Always inspect the pads for signs of excessive wear after a significant crash or impact.
