Operated by a pull switch located on the right-hand side, it incorporates an isolating transformer for the socket, which is powered independently of the light. The socket has 20VA overload protection and is IP20 rated, suitable for locations outwith zone 2. It is Class I, requiring an earth connection. A safety interlock prevents lamp pins from becoming live until the diffuser cover is fitted. Manufactured to BS EN 61558-2-5, the dimensions are 492mm long x 61mm high x 72mm deep, with fixing centres of 172mm.
