Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure success with this jersey knit, always pre-wash the fabric to account for potential shrinkage before cutting your pattern pieces. Due to the tendency for the edges to curl, consider using a starch spray or staying the edges with masking tape or a stay-stitch immediately after cutting to prevent distortion. When sewing, use a ballpoint or stretch needle to avoid skipped stitches and snagging the fibers. A walking foot or dual feed system is highly recommended to manage the fabric's stretch while feeding it through the machine. For seams, use a zig-zag stitch or a dedicated knit stitch, or work on an overlocker/serger for professional finishing. Always follow standard machine washing cycles suitable for 100% cotton garments.
