The Polk RC60i 2-Way In-Ceiling Speakers are an excellent choice for homeowners looking to integrate high-quality, unobtrusive audio into their living spaces, home theaters, or moisture-prone areas like bathrooms and kitchens. These speakers utilize Dynamic Balance technology to provide lifelike, balanced sound with impressive depth, blending seamlessly into your home aesthetic when the grilles are painted to match your ceiling. While they offer exceptional installation flexibility, users should note that they require professional-level ceiling cutting and standard speaker wiring to achieve their full performance potential.

While the RC60i is moisture-resistant, they are not fully waterproof. They are ideal for bathrooms with ventilation, but avoid placing them directly above a steam source.
The RC60i is designed as an infinite-baffle speaker and does not require a back box to function; it uses the ceiling cavity as its acoustic enclosure.
The Polk RC60i covers a frequency range of 40 Hz to 20,000 Hz.
Yes, the aluminum grilles are paintable. Use spray paint for a smooth, professional finish, and ensure you do not clog the perforated holes.
They are compatible with any standard home theater receiver or amplifier that supports 8-ohm speakers and power output between 20-100 watts per channel.
Check the wiring connections at both the amplifier and the speaker terminal to ensure a tight, secure connection.
Verify that your amplifier is not exceeding the speaker's power handling limit and ensure the mounting screws are tightened to prevent cabinet vibration.
Ensure that the gauge of speaker wire used is sufficient for the length of the run; thick 16-gauge wire is recommended for longer distances.
Installation requires cutting a precise hole in your drywall based on the speaker diameter; always use the provided template to ensure a snug fit. Once the hole is cut, the rotating cam-lock system secures the speaker firmly into the ceiling without requiring additional brackets in many applications.
Compatibility-wise, these speakers operate at 8 ohms and handle up to 100 watts of power. Ensure your receiver or amplifier is compatible with an 8-ohm load to avoid distortion or equipment damage. For care, simply dust the grilles occasionally with a dry cloth. If the grilles get dirty, they can be removed and wiped with a damp cloth, provided they are allowed to dry completely before reinstallation.
