Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Battery Installation: Insert four AA batteries into the battery compartment, observing correct polarity. Using high-quality rechargeable NiMH batteries is recommended for performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Mounting: Securely attach the i600 to your camera's hot shoe until it clicks into place. Ensure a firm connection.
- Power On: Press the power button to turn the flash on. The flash will likely default to TTL mode.
- Mode Selection: Use the physical buttons on the flash to cycle through available modes (TTL, Manual, etc.) and adjust power levels or zoom settings as needed.
Compatibility:
The Nissin i600 is compatible with Fujifilm, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, and Sony cameras. Ensure you purchase the correct version for your camera brand, as the TTL communication protocols differ.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the flashgun with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquids or abrasive cleaners. Clean the lens element gently with a lens cloth.
- Storage: Store the flash in a dry, cool place, preferably in its original packaging or a protective pouch, with batteries removed to prevent drain.
- Battery Management: Remove batteries if the flash will not be used for an extended period.
- Handling: Avoid dropping the flash unit or exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture.
