FAQs

What type of sanding sheets does this sander use?

The Ryobi RROS18-0 uses sanding sheets with a hook and loop backing.

Is a battery and charger included?

No, this is a bare tool, and a Ryobi 18V ONE+ battery and charger are required and sold separately.

How do I change the sanding sheets?

Simply remove the old sanding sheet from the hook and loop base and attach a new one.

Can I use this sander for automotive applications?

Yes, but it's best suited for smaller tasks, like removing paint from trim. For larger automotive projects, consider a more powerful sander.

What grit sandpaper should I use?

Start with a coarser grit (e.g., 80 grit) for material removal and switch to finer grits (e.g., 220 grit) for a smooth finish.

How often should I empty the dust bag?

Empty the dust bag frequently to maintain efficient dust collection and prevent clogging. The frequency depends on the task and material being sanded.

Troubleshooting

Sander not turning on.

Ensure the battery is properly installed and charged. Check the battery contacts for any debris. Try a different Ryobi 18V ONE+ battery.

Poor sanding performance or swirl marks.

Use the appropriate grit sandpaper for the task. Apply even pressure while sanding. Avoid excessive force. Check the sanding pad for damage. Ensure the sanding sheet is securely attached.

Excessive dust.

Ensure the dust bag is properly attached and not full. Check for any blockages in the dust extraction system.
