The SecureFix Direct Grade 80 High Tensile Eye Nut (10mm M10) is designed for general lifting purposes, particularly within the lifting industry where certified equipment is crucial. Its key benefit is providing a strong, durable attachment point for lifting hooks, ensuring safety and reliability. A key consideration is ensuring the load is applied correctly according to its rated Safe Working Load (SWL) to maintain safety.

'Grade 80' refers to the material strength classification for alloy steel used in overhead lifting applications. It indicates a specific level of tensile strength and heat treatment, ensuring suitability for demanding lifting tasks.
The SWL depends on the angle of the load. For this 10mm eye nut, the SWL is 1 Ton at 0° (direct overhead pull) and reduces to 0.4 Ton at 90° (angled pull). Always use the SWL corresponding to the actual angle of load application. Never exceed the lowest applicable SWL.
This eye nut is designed for static lifting. Dynamic or shock loading can significantly exceed its rated capacity and cause failure. It is not recommended for applications involving sudden jerks or impacts without a thorough engineering assessment.
A test certificate can be supplied via email upon request. Please contact SecureFix Direct customer support to arrange this.
For the 10mm M10 size: Thread Length is 18mm, and the Eye Diameter is 25mm.
While the Grade 80 material is durable, prolonged outdoor exposure can lead to rust and corrosion. For outdoor use, ensure proper storage and regular inspection, and consider using corrosion-resistant coatings or alternative materials if the environment is particularly harsh.
The mating thread is likely damaged, stripped, or not compatible (not M10). Inspect the thread on the bolt or in the tapped hole. Ensure it is an M10 thread and in good condition.
Immediately remove the eye nut from service. This indicates the nut has been overloaded or subjected to excessive stress. Do not attempt to repair it; replace it with a new, properly rated component.
Light surface rust can often be cleaned off with a wire brush. If the rust is deep or affects the threads or eye shape, the component may be compromised and should be replaced, especially if used in critical lifting applications.
