Wipe the surface with a damp, non-abrasive cloth to remove dust or residue that may be obscuring the etchings.
Lay the ruler on a perfectly flat surface and apply light, even pressure in the opposite direction to help straighten the steel.
No complex setup is required for the Linex SL 15; simply remove it from the packaging and it is ready for immediate use. To maintain the accuracy of the ruler, avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive sponges when cleaning, as these may scratch the finish or blur the measurement etchings. A simple wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth is sufficient to remove graphite or dust. When not in use, take advantage of the integrated hanging hole to store it vertically, which helps prevent the thin stainless steel from developing permanent bends or kinks.
