Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before adding these volcanic rocks to an existing aquarium, it is critical to rinse them thoroughly under cold running water to remove any loose volcanic sediment or dust that may cause temporary water cloudiness. Once rinsed, the rocks can be placed directly onto the substrate or stacked to form small caves for fish. Because they are pH neutral, no special water testing is required upon installation. For long-term care, periodic cleaning can be performed during routine water changes by gently swishing the rocks in siphoned aquarium water to clear away accumulated debris, ensuring the pores remain open for maximum biological filtration.
