Product Information

Full details

The IT Luggage Convertible Large in Black is designed for adult travelers seeking versatile luggage solutions. Its primary benefit is the easy-click removable wheels, significantly reducing size for efficient storage or transport in vehicles. A key consideration is that while durable, the ABS shell may show scuffs with heavy use. This luggage features a clamshell design for organized packing, a durable ABS shell with a ribbed finish, Travel Sentry approved combination locks, easy-click removable wheels that save up to 2 inches, a zippered expander for 25% more space, an 8-wheel spinner system, multi-stage telescopic trolley, and ergonomic grab-handles, all finished with a fully lined orange interior.

FAQs

How do I change the combination on my Travel Sentry lock?

Most Travel Sentry locks have a small reset button or lever on the side. With the lock open (usually at 0-0-0), use a pointed object to press the reset button. Enter your desired new combination and then push the reset button again. Consult the specific lock instructions that came with your luggage for precise details.

What is the benefit of the removable wheels?

Removing the wheels reduces the overall dimensions of the suitcase by up to 2 inches (5 cm). This is particularly useful for fitting the luggage into smaller car trunks, overhead storage compartments on some vehicles, or for more compact storage at home.

How much extra space does the expander offer?

The zippered expander section provides up to 25% additional packing space when unzipped.

What material is the outer shell made of?

The outer case is made from a strong and durable ABS shell with a stylish ribbed finish.

Is this suitcase suitable for airline carry-on?

This is a 'Large' size suitcase, which is typically intended for checked baggage. Its dimensions with wheels attached will likely exceed most airline carry-on size restrictions. Always check with your specific airline for their current carry-on policies.

What is the warranty period?

The IT Luggage Convertible comes with a 10-Year Manufacturers Warranty.

How do I clean the interior lining?

The interior lining can be spot cleaned using a damp cloth and mild soap. Ensure the lining is completely dry before closing the suitcase or storing it.

Troubleshooting

Wheels are difficult to remove or reattach.

Ensure no debris is obstructing the release mechanism or wheel socket. Check the specific instructions provided with the luggage for the correct procedure.

Combination lock is stuck or won't open.

Ensure you are using the correct 3-digit combination. If you have forgotten the combination, refer to the lock manufacturer's instructions for a reset procedure, which may require contacting customer support or visiting a locksmith if the lock is fully secured.

Telescopic handle gets stuck.

Extend the handle fully and check for any obstructions. Gently try to move it again. Avoid forcing the handle, as this can cause damage. If it persists, contact customer support.

Zipper is difficult to move.

Check for fabric caught in the zipper teeth. Gently try to work the zipper back and forth. Applying a small amount of graphite pencil lead or wax along the teeth can help it glide more smoothly.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Removable wheels offer significant space-saving benefits.
  • Expandable capacity provides flexibility for different trip lengths.
  • Smooth maneuverability with the 8-wheel spinner system.
  • Integrated TSA-approved locks offer convenient security.
  • Durable construction suitable for frequent travel.
  • Organized interior with compression straps and zippered pocket.

Cons

  • ABS shell can be prone to scratching or scuffing with rough handling.
  • Removable wheels require a manual process for storage optimization.
  • While expandable, the maximum capacity may still be limiting for very long trips.
  • The specific dimensions with wheels attached may need to be checked against airline carry-on limits if used as such (though this is a large size).

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The primary setup involves setting your personal combination for the Travel Sentry Approved locks. Typically, locks are set to '0-0-0' by default. Consult the lock's instructions (usually found inside or attached to the luggage tag) for specific steps to change the combination. The wheels are pre-attached but can be removed by locating the release mechanism near each wheel housing and following the instructions provided with the luggage. Reattaching them is a simple push until a click is heard.

Compatibility: This is a large suitcase, designed for checked baggage. Always verify current airline size and weight restrictions for checked luggage before travel, as they can vary. The Travel Sentry locks are recognized by TSA, allowing security personnel to open and re-lock your luggage without damage if inspected.

Care: To clean the ABS shell, use a damp cloth with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners. For the interior lining, spot clean with a damp cloth. Ensure the luggage is completely dry before storing. Regularly check the wheels and trolley system for debris or damage. Store in a cool, dry place, preferably with the wheels removed or in a protective cover to prevent dust accumulation.
