Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Simply insert the RJ45 male connector into the Ethernet port of your networking device until you hear a 'click.' The clip protector should be facing away from the release tab to ensure the connection remains secure.
Compatibility: This cable is backward compatible with Cat5 and Cat5e infrastructure, meaning it can be used with older routers and switches, though it will perform at the speed limits allowed by those older devices.
Care: To maintain the longevity of your cable:
- Avoid pulling the cable by the wire itself; always grip the connector housing.
- Do not tightly coil the cable, as this can damage the internal copper wiring.
- Keep the cable away from heat sources and sharp edges that could compromise the PVC outer jacket.
