FAQs

How often should I water my Sempervivums?

Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. The frequency will depend on the climate and environment.

Do Sempervivums need fertilizer?

They benefit from occasional fertilization during the growing season (spring and summer), but it's not essential. Use a diluted fertilizer.

Can Sempervivums survive in cold weather?

Yes, they are cold-hardy and can survive freezing temperatures.

How much sunlight do Sempervivums need?

They need at least 6 hours of sunlight per day to thrive and maintain their colors.

How do I propagate Sempervivums?

They produce offsets (chicks) that can be easily removed and replanted to start new plants.

What kind of soil is best for Sempervivums?

Use well-draining soil, such as a cactus mix, to prevent root rot.

What should I do if my plant is etiolated (stretched)?

Move your plant to a location with more sunlight. Etiolation is usually caused by insufficient light.

Troubleshooting

Plant is turning brown or mushy.

Reduce watering. This is often a sign of overwatering and root rot. Ensure the soil is drying out completely between waterings.

Plant is stretching or losing color.

Increase sunlight exposure. Sempervivums need plenty of sunlight to thrive and maintain their vibrant colors.

Plant is not growing.

Check the soil and sunlight conditions. Ensure the plant is receiving enough sunlight and that the soil is not too compacted. Fertilize sparingly.
