Setup, Compatibility & Care
Plant the Crataegus Plena in well-drained soil. Regular watering is essential during the growing season, particularly in drier climates. Consider the tree's mature size when selecting a planting location; ensure it has enough space to grow to its full potential (5m height, 4m spread). Pruning is generally not required, but it can be beneficial for shaping the tree and maintaining its health. Pruning is best performed in late winter or early spring before new growth appears. The tree is compatible with most soil types but thrives best in fertile, well-drained soil. Ensure adequate sunlight exposure for optimal flowering and growth. When planting, dig a hole that's slightly wider than the root ball and backfill with a mix of soil and compost to provide nutrients.
