The ideal planting window is between September and December.
Plant the bulbs approximately 10-15cm deep with the pointed end facing up.
Yes, it is highly recommended to wear gloves as the bulbs can cause skin or eye irritation.
You can expect them to bloom magnificently between April and May.
Yes, they are perennial and will naturalize in the ground, returning each year.
These bulbs typically reach a height of 25cm.
Ensure they were planted at the correct depth and that the soil did not become severely waterlogged during winter, which can lead to bulb rot.
This often indicates overcrowding. Lift the clump after the foliage has died down, divide the bulbs, and replant them with more space.
To ensure success, plant your bulbs between September and December while the soil is still workable. Dig holes approximately 10-15cm deep, ensuring the pointed end of the bulb is facing upward. Space bulbs roughly 10cm apart to allow for healthy growth. Because the sap can cause skin or eye irritation, always wear gardening gloves when handling the bulbs and wash your hands thoroughly afterward. Once planted, keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. The bulbs are hardy and generally require little intervention once established, but applying a light mulch of organic matter in the autumn can provide extra nourishment for the following spring bloom.
