Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
The Lomond Basin is designed for countertop installation. Ensure you have a sturdy vanity unit or countertop that can support its weight and has the necessary cutout for the basin and plumbing.
- Prepare the Countertop: Mark the required cutout dimensions on your countertop based on the basin's template (if provided) or its base dimensions. Ensure the cutout allows for proper seating of the basin.
- Install Plumbing: Connect the waste and overflow fittings to the basin before placing it on the countertop. Ensure all seals are secure.
- Mount the Basin: Carefully place the basin into the cutout. Apply a suitable silicone sealant around the underside lip where it meets the countertop to create a watertight seal and prevent movement.
- Connect Faucet: Install your chosen countertop faucet according to its manufacturer's instructions, ensuring it aligns correctly with the basin's tap hole.
Compatibility:
- Countertop/Vanity: Requires a flat, stable surface with a pre-cut hole. Compatible with most standard countertop materials like stone, quartz, solid surface, or treated wood.
- Plumbing: Standard basin waste and overflow fittings are typically compatible. Check local plumbing codes.
- Faucet: Compatible with single-hole or three-hole faucets, depending on the basin's configuration (confirm tap hole details).
Care:
- Clean regularly with a soft, damp cloth and mild, non-abrasive soap.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the ceramic glaze.
- Wipe spills promptly to prevent staining.
- Periodically check the sealant around the basin's base for integrity.
