Are you looking to cheer up a dull corner of a patio or a small garden? The delightful Prunus 'Okame' is a lovely, small, ornamental tree that pleases the eye with carmine pink flowers. It grows to a height of 4m and a spread of 4m in a 20 year period, making it ideal for smaller spaces and in-city gardens. This bush has a neat growing habit, making it easy to maintain with little or no pruning needed. Your Flowering Cherry tree will produce masses of candy-floss pink, petite single flowers through March and into early April. The flowers are very popular with bees and pollinating insects, bringing movement, sound and life into your garden. The foliage is a stunning sharply-toothed dark-green leaf that turns to a rich orange and red in the autumn, adding additional interest before falling. Prunus 'Okamé' is tolerant of pollution and most soils apart from very wet or chalky soils. It is fully hardy and can be planted in full sun. This stunning Flowering Cherry tree has received the RHS Award of Garden Merit and is a must-have for your small garden. Plant next to a small picnic bench and table to create a wonderful relaxed focal point in your outdoor space.
