Setup, Compatibility & Care
Planting:
Plant your Ficus Little Miss Figgy in a well-draining soil mix. A standard potting mix amended with perlite or sand works well for container planting.
Location:
Place the plant in a location that receives bright, indirect light. Avoid intense, direct sunlight, especially during the hottest parts of the day, as this can scorch the leaves.
Watering:
Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.
Fertilizing:
Feed your plant every few months during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce or stop fertilizing in fall and winter.
Pruning:
Pruning may be done to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Note that plants may be supplied pruned back to promote new growth.
Winter Care:
As a deciduous plant, it will lose its leaves in winter. Protect from hard frost if grown outdoors in cooler climates; bring into a cool, frost-free location indoors.
