The John Boos Block Board Cream is an essential maintenance solution for home cooks and professionals who rely on wooden cutting boards, butcher blocks, and serving bowls. It provides a vital protective barrier that prevents wood from drying, cracking, or warping over time. While highly effective at revitalizing aged wood, users should note that the cream requires a brief curing period before the surface can be used for food preparation again.

Yes, it is formulated with food-grade ingredients and is safe for all wood surfaces used for food preparation.
For boards used daily, once a month is recommended. If the wood appears light, faded, or dry, treat it immediately.
Yes, this cream is suitable for bamboo, maple, walnut, and most other types of butcher block wood.
It will temporarily darken the wood to its natural, hydrated tone, which is standard for oil-based wood treatments.
No, the formula is specifically designed to be odorless and tasteless.
You likely used too much cream. Use a clean, dry cloth to buff away the excess until the wood feels smooth, not slick.
In cold temperatures, the beeswax may thicken. Warm the tube slightly in your hands or place it in a bowl of warm (not hot) water for a minute.
Before applying the cream, ensure the cutting board is thoroughly cleaned and completely dry. Use a soft cloth to apply a generous amount to the wood surface, working it into the grain using circular motions. Let the product sit for at least four to six hours, or preferably overnight, to allow deep absorption. Once the wood has absorbed the cream, buff away any surface residue with a clean, dry lint-free cloth. Store the tube in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain the integrity of the beeswax and oil blend.
