Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
This tree is supplied in a 12-litre pot and is ready for planting. Ensure it is watered thoroughly before and after planting.
- Planting:
- In Ground: Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and to the same depth. Gently place the tree in the hole, backfill with soil, and water well. Ensure the graft union is above soil level.
- In Pots: Choose a pot of at least 100 litres capacity. Use a good quality potting compost. Place the tree in the pot, ensuring the top of the root ball is slightly below the rim, and water thoroughly.
- Position: Suitable for most positions; consider sun exposure based on your specific climate, though it is hardy.
- Soil: Adaptable to most soil types.
- Watering: Water regularly, especially during the first year and dry periods. Container-grown trees will require more frequent watering.
- Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and remove any dead or crossing branches. For container-grown trees, pruning can help manage size.
- Feeding: Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring. For container-grown trees, use a slow-release fertiliser suitable for trees and shrubs.
