This Seawhite A3 All Media Cartridge Paper Pad is designed for artists and creators seeking a versatile surface for a range of dry and wet media. Its key benefit is the 140gsm weight and acid-free composition, offering good durability and color preservation for sketches, drawings, pastels, and light washes. A potential caveat is that while suitable for 'all media,' heavy or prolonged wet techniques might still cause buckling.

This paper is designed as an 'all media' option, making it versatile for sketching, drawing, pastels, light washes of watercolor, gouache, and other common art techniques.
While you can use acrylics, this 140gsm paper is best suited for lighter applications. Heavy body acrylics or thick impasto techniques may cause the paper to buckle or warp significantly.
Store the pad flat in a dry, temperate location, away from direct sunlight and high humidity. This will help prevent the paper from warping and preserve its archival qualities.
It is suitable for a broad range of media, but 'all media' can be a general term. For extremely wet techniques (heavy watercolor, inks) or very thick paint applications, specialized papers designed for those specific mediums will yield better results with less paper distortion.
Sizing is a treatment applied to paper that improves its resistance to liquids. 'Extra wet strength' means the paper is treated to better withstand moisture and repeated wetting without breaking down or losing its integrity as quickly as standard paper.
Each pad contains 50 sheets of 140gsm cartridge paper.
The pad features a stiff 2mm grey backing board, providing a firm surface to work on.
Use less water or apply media more sparingly. For more consistent results, consider taping the edges of the paper to a rigid surface (like a drawing board) before applying wet media, or use a heavier weight paper specifically designed for wet techniques.
Test your ink on a scrap piece first. While suitable for many pens, some highly fluid inks may still bleed. For critical work, consider using a heavier paper or applying a primer like gesso.
Ensure the tape binding is not damaged. If pages are sticking, carefully use a thin blade or palette knife along the tape edge to separate them. Store the pad flat to prevent the binding from warping.
The 2mm backing board provides moderate rigidity for general use. For very firm support, especially when working on a surface without a desk, consider placing the pad on a sturdier board or easel.
Setup: No specific setup is required. The pad is ready for immediate use upon purchase. Simply open the pad to the desired page.
