Full details

This guide is for homeowners and property managers looking to refresh the appearance of faded composite and uPVC doors. The ABK Door Restore in White offers a key benefit of restoring original color and providing UV protection, leaving a deep gloss shine. A potential caveat is that it is specifically formulated for white doors and may not yield the same results on other colors, though it can work on other faded outdoor surfaces. Its key features include easy application, a non-drip formula, and long-lasting weather protection.

FAQs

Can this product be used on black or colored doors?

The ABK Door Restore is specifically formulated for white doors to restore their original color. While it can be used on other colored outdoor surfaces that have faded, the results may vary, and it might not achieve the same level of color restoration as on white surfaces.

How long does the restored finish last?

The restored finish provides a weather-resistant barrier that protects against sun and weather damage. The longevity depends on environmental exposure, but it is designed for enduring protection.

How much product do I need for one door?

A little goes a long way. The 500ml bottle is designed to cover multiple doors or a significant area, making it great value for restoring several items.

What preparation is needed before applying?

The surface must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, or other contaminants. Testing on an inconspicuous area is also recommended.

Can I paint over the restored surface?

This product is designed to restore and protect. If you intend to paint the door, it is best to do so before applying the Door Restore. Compatibility with subsequent paint layers has not been tested.

Is this product suitable for interior doors?

This product is designed for exterior use to protect against sun and weather damage. It is not typically recommended for interior doors.

How should I clean the restored door?

You can clean the restored surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or tools that could scratch the finish.

Troubleshooting

Product is streaky after application.

Ensure the product was applied evenly and in thin coats. Wipe off excess product before it dries. Ensure the surface was clean and dry before application.

Surface remains dull after application.

The surface may have been too heavily oxidized or damaged. A second thin coat might help. Ensure adequate product was applied and allowed to dry fully.

Product does not seem to be drying.

Ensure application conditions are within the recommended temperature range and humidity levels. Excessive application of the product can increase drying time.

White residue appears after drying.

This could be excess product. Gently buff the area with a clean, dry cloth. Ensure thin, even coats were applied.
