Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation of the Snowdon Timber Skirting Board should follow these steps:
- Acclimatization: Store the boards in the room where they will be installed for at least 24 hours to allow the timber to adjust to room temperature and humidity.
- Measurement: Measure the wall length precisely, accounting for mitre cuts at corners.
- Cutting: Utilize a mitre box or a power mitre saw to cut the boards at 45-degree angles for internal and external corners.
- Fixing: Use a combination of high-strength construction adhesive and pin nails to secure the board to the wall.
- Finishing: Fill any nail holes with a paintable wood filler, lightly sand, and apply your final topcoat in the desired color.
Care Instructions: To keep your skirting boards looking their best, wipe them down periodically with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. If the finish is scuffed over time, touch up the area with your selected topcoat paint to maintain the barrier against moisture and wear.
