Sealey CVJ Boot/Hose Clip Tool with Cutter - VS1636

This tool is designed for standard CVJ boot banding material and compatible hose clip banding. Always refer to the banding manufacturer's specifications for tool compatibility.

The tension is adjusted by turning the winding mechanism. Consistent turning applies tension to the band. Practice is recommended to find the ideal tension for different applications.

While primarily designed for CVJ boot banding, it can be used for certain types of hose clips that utilize a similar banding and tensioning system. It is not suitable for spring clamps or screw-type clamps.

Lubricate the winding mechanism and cutter pivot points periodically, especially if you notice stiffness. A light application of oil every few months of regular use is generally sufficient.

The cutting blade is integrated into the lever mechanism. If the blade is damaged or worn, the entire tool may need to be replaced or repaired by a qualified technician.

Ensure the cutting blade is sharp. Clean any debris from the cutter mechanism. Check that the banding is positioned correctly under the cutting lever.

Clean the winding mechanism thoroughly to remove dirt or old grease. Apply a small amount of light lubricating oil to the moving parts. Ensure the banding is not caught or twisted.

Check the jaws for wear or damage. Ensure the banding material is inserted correctly and fully into the jaws. Clean the jaws to remove any slippery residue.

Practice using the winding mechanism to achieve optimal tension. Ensure you are winding the mechanism correctly and applying consistent pressure. The type or thickness of the banding material may affect tension capability.
