Yes, it is safe to use on highlighted hair to tone and maintain the brightness of the highlights.
Daily use is not recommended. Overuse can lead to unwanted purple hues or dryness. It is best to use it a few times a week or when you notice brassiness.
While the shampoo cleanses, it can be drying. Always follow with a moisturizing conditioner to keep your hair hydrated.
Wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo to remove excess pigment. Use a deep conditioning treatment to restore moisture.
The product does not mention the presence of sulfates. Always check the ingredient list for the most accurate information.
Reduce the amount of time the shampoo is left on the hair. Ensure even distribution of the shampoo during application.
Follow with a moisturizing conditioner and consider using the shampoo less frequently. Use a hair mask once a week.
Increase the frequency of use and let it sit on the hair for longer.
To use the Aveda Botanical Repair™ Purple Toning Shampoo, wet your hair thoroughly. Apply a small amount of shampoo, lather, and rinse. Follow with a conditioner suitable for your hair type. The shampoo is compatible with most hair types, but individuals with very dry or damaged hair may need to use a deep conditioning treatment. Be sure to use a color-safe conditioner to complement the shampoo and avoid any potential color fading or damage to the hair. Always perform a patch test if you have sensitive skin.
