FAQs

Is this helmet safe for road use?

Yes, it is EN 1078 certified, which is the standard for bicycle helmets in Europe.

Can I replace the visor if it breaks?

Because the visor is molded directly into the shell for increased strength, it is not designed to be removed or replaced.

How do I know when the helmet needs replacing?

You should replace the helmet if it has been involved in a significant impact, or every 3-5 years due to natural wear and tear of the materials.

What age group is this helmet intended for?

The Chakra Child helmet is specifically engineered for children, typically fitting a wide range of head sizes through the adjustable dial.

Is the light waterproof?

The light is weather-resistant for typical riding conditions, but it should not be submerged in water.

Troubleshooting

Rear light will not turn on

Check the battery compartment for proper installation and ensure the battery is not depleted.

Helmet feels loose or wobbly

Tighten the rear dial and ensure the side strap sliders are positioned correctly just under the earlobes.

Inner pads are smelling after heavy use

Remove the interior padding and hand wash with mild soap, then allow to air dry completely.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Integrated rear light significantly increases rider visibility
Lightweight construction prevents neck strain for children
Extended rear coverage offers superior head protection
Excellent airflow provided by 21 separate vents
Easy-to-use Dial-Fit system allows for quick size adjustments

Cons

Requires periodic battery maintenance for the rear light
Fit must be monitored closely to account for child growth
Single color scheme may not appeal to all preferences

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up the helmet, loosen the `Dial-Fit` system completely before placing it on the child's head. Adjust the side sliders so the straps form a 'V' shape just below the ears. Once positioned, tighten the dial at the back until the helmet is snug but comfortable—it should not shift when the child shakes their head. Compatibility is broad for standard cycling activities. For care, wipe the outer shell with a damp cloth and mild soap. The anti-microbial pads are removable; wash them by hand in cold water and air dry to maintain their integrity. Check the integrated light before every ride to ensure battery life is sufficient.
