The Sealey IS1218 Impact Socket is a professional-grade tool engineered for automotive technicians and heavy-duty mechanics who require reliable performance under high torque. Its primary benefit is the specialized WallDrive design, which minimizes rounding on fasteners, though users should note that as a dedicated impact tool, it is significantly heavier and bulkier than standard hand-tool sockets.

While it will physically fit a 1/2 inch drive manual ratchet, impact sockets are heavier and bulkier than standard hand sockets, making them less ideal for delicate manual work.
No, it features a phosphate finish, which is a matte-black treatment that offers superior corrosion resistance for impact applications.
The lifetime guarantee covers manufacturing defects and failures during normal professional use. It does not cover misuse or intentional damage.
Yes, as long as your cordless impact driver features a 1/2 inch square drive anvil.
Keep the socket dry and wipe it down with a light machine oil after use to prevent surface oxidation.
Check for dirt or rust buildup inside the socket or on the fastener; clear debris with a wire brush.
Ensure the socket is fully seated on the detent ball of the anvil; consider using a retaining pin for consistent, secure operation.
To ensure maximum longevity, always use the IS1218 with a compatible 1/2 inch square drive impact tool. It is highly recommended to use an impact-rated retaining pin and O-ring (not included) when using this socket to ensure it does not detach during operation. After use, wipe the socket with a clean rag to remove debris and apply a light coat of machine oil if storing in a humid environment to maintain the integrity of the phosphate finish.
