Full details

The ESR HaloLock Magnetic Car Phone Mount is designed for iPhone 12 series and later users, as well as those with MagSafe-compatible cases, who need a reliable and steady hands-free solution for their vehicle. Its primary benefit is the exceptionally strong 2,300g holding force that keeps devices secure on rough terrain, though users should note it is primarily optimized for MagSafe-enabled devices or magnetic accessories rather than bare non-magnetic phones.

FAQs

Can I use this with an iPhone 11?

Yes, but you must use a magnetic (MagSafe) compatible case, as the iPhone 11 does not have built-in magnets.

Will it work with my circular air vents?

Yes, the unique hook design is specifically engineered to securely grasp most circular, horizontal, and vertical vent designs.

Does this mount charge my phone?

No, this is a magnetic holder only and does not provide wireless charging functionality.

Will the magnets affect my phone's electronics?

No, the high-grade N52H magnets are safe for use with smartphones and will not interfere with internal components.

Can I switch between landscape and portrait while driving?

Yes, the 360-degree ball joint allows for fluid rotation, though it is recommended to adjust your phone only when the vehicle is stationary.

Troubleshooting

The mount feels loose on the vent.

Ensure the hook is fully engaged behind the vent slat and rotate the tightening knob clockwise until it feels rigid.

Phone slides off during bumps.

Verify that your phone case is MagSafe-compatible. If using a standard case without a magnetic ring, the connection will be weak.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Exceptionally strong magnetic hold force of 2,300g
Versatile hook fits nearly every type of car vent
Allows for smooth 360-degree rotation
Easy one-handed operation for mounting and dismounting

Cons

Requires MagSafe-compatible phone or magnetic case
May block airflow from the vent slightly
Not compatible with phones that lack magnetic backing or cases

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To install, loosen the adjustable hook until it is fully extended. Insert the hook into your chosen air vent, find the slat edge, and tighten the knob until the mount is pulled firmly against the vent.

Compatibility:

Devices: iPhone 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 series.
Cases: Works best with official Apple MagSafe cases or ESR HaloLock cases.
Vents: Compatible with horizontal, vertical, round, and cross-hatch patterns.

Care:

Clean the magnetic surface periodically with a microfiber cloth to remove dust buildup.
Periodically check the tension of the hook nut after extreme temperature changes in your vehicle to ensure it remains tight.
