The Grivel Explorer Micro Crampons are designed for outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, and trail runners who need reliable traction on slippery terrain like snow, ice, and mud. These micro crampons provide excellent grip through 14 steel points, though they are intended for light traction rather than technical mountaineering or steep vertical ice climbing.

No, these are micro crampons designed for walking and trail use, not for vertical ice climbing or steep, technical mountaineering.
It is recommended to remove them on dry rock sections to avoid damaging the points and to maintain a more stable footing.
The sizes (S, M, L, XL) correspond to standard footwear sizing. Choose based on the bulk of your hiking boots, not just your shoe size.
While they feature anti-corrosion treatment, you should always dry them completely before storage to ensure the longest possible product life.
Yes, the flexible rubber harness is specifically designed to accommodate trail running shoes as well as standard hiking boots.
Ensure the rubber harness is evenly distributed around the shoe and tighten the rear lace system further.
Ensure you are using the correct size; if the rubber is over-stretched, it may be too small for your specific boot volume.
To set up your crampons, pull the rubber harness over the toe of your shoe first, then stretch the heel portion over the back of your footwear. Utilize the rear lace system to secure the fit so the unit does not shift while walking. These are compatible with most standard hiking boots and athletic shoes. After use, rinse the crampons with fresh water to remove any salt or debris, and allow them to air dry completely before placing them into the zippered storage pouch to prevent rust and mold.
