The JCP Fixings nylon plasterboard plugs are ideal for DIY enthusiasts and professionals looking to mount lightweight fixtures, such as picture frames and small shelves, directly into plasterboard walls. These 7mm x 35mm plugs provide a secure and reliable grip, ensuring that your interior fittings stay firmly in place; however, they are specifically engineered for plasterboard and should not be used for heavy-duty structural loads or masonry surfaces.

No, these are specifically designed for plasterboard and do not have the expansion characteristics required for masonry.
These are intended for lightweight fixtures only. Do not use for items exceeding light-duty ratings like heavy mirrors or large cabinets.
No, you only need a 7mm drill bit for the pilot hole and a standard screwdriver for the final mounting screw.
Use a 7mm drill bit to ensure the plug fits snugly into the plasterboard.
It is not recommended to reuse these plugs, as the nylon may be deformed during the initial removal of the screw.
The pilot hole may be too large. Use a smaller drill bit next time or apply a small amount of wall filler around the plug to help it set.
Ensure you are not applying excessive force with a hammer. If the hole is too large, the plug will lack the resistance needed to stop at the surface.
Check that the screw is the correct length and diameter for the plug; a screw that is too thin will fail to trigger the necessary expansion of the nylon.
To set up these plugs, first drill a 7mm pilot hole into the plasterboard. Gently tap the plug into the wall until the flange is flush with the surface. Once installed, drive your screw through the fixture into the plug; the screw will cause the plug to expand and lock securely into the rear of the plasterboard. These plugs are compatible with most standard wood screws or self-tapping screws within the appropriate gauge. When removing fixtures, take care to back out the screw slowly to minimize damage to the surrounding plasterboard area.
