The Scorpion Cat Back Exhaust System (SAU040) is an ideal performance upgrade for Audi TT 1.8T Quattro (8N) owners looking to improve throttle response and exhaust tone without sacrificing daily drivability. By replacing the restrictive factory exhaust from the catalytic converter rearward, this system optimizes gas flow to unlock hidden engine power. While it offers a more refined, performance-oriented sound, users should note that this upgrade is designed specifically for the 8N chassis and may not fit other Audi models.

Yes, because the system retains the factory primary catalytic converters, it is designed to meet standard emissions testing requirements.
No, a remap is not strictly necessary as the system is designed to work within the parameters of the stock engine management.
No, the SAU040 model is specifically engineered for the Quattro (all-wheel-drive) version of the 8N Audi TT.
You will need a basic metric socket set, an exhaust hanger removal tool, and jack stands to safely raise the vehicle.
It provides a more pronounced, sporty note, but it is engineered to avoid excessive cabin drone compared to unrestricted straight-pipe systems.
Loosen the mounting clamps slightly, adjust the positioning of the tailpipes to center them in the cutout, and re-tighten the hardware.
Check all mounting hangers and ensure no part of the pipe is making contact with the vehicle chassis or subframe.
Ensure the sleeve joints are properly seated and re-apply heat-resistant exhaust assembly paste to improve the seal.
This system is a bolt-on replacement, but proper installation is critical for long-term performance. It is compatible exclusively with the Audi TT 1.8T Quattro (8N). We recommend using high-quality exhaust paste at joint connections to ensure a complete, airtight seal. To maintain the finish and structural integrity of the T304 stainless steel, periodically inspect the hangers and clamps for signs of loosening or vibrations. Cleaning the exhaust tips with a specialized stainless steel polish will prevent surface oxidation and keep the system looking as good as it performs.
