Rainsmart 65-tonne heavy-duty soakaway crates are supplied flat-packed for quick on-site assembly. Each crate builds to 600mm × 600mm × 690mm and is suitable for high-load applications including residential developments, commercial projects and infrastructure works.Each unit provides 236 litres of storage with a 95% void ratio, and four crates form a 1m³ soakaway. With a 65 t/m² vertical load capacity, these crates offer far superior performance to traditional hardcore-style soakaways.Crates do not require structural clips; cable ties can be used to hold units in position during assembly, with the surrounding side fill providing final stability. Non-woven geotextile membrane is included and must be wrapped around all outward-facing surfaces to prevent soil or sand ingress and maintain long-term efficiency.Rainwater is introduced by butting the stormwater pipe against the crate. Lay the membrane over the crate, cut a small cross at the entry point, fold it back, insert the pipe and secure the membrane tightly around the pipe. A weak concrete mix may be added for extra stability if required.A rubber mallet is supplied with 1m³ sets for easy assembly.
