Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Preparation: Ensure the wall surface is clean, dry, smooth, and free from old wallpaper or loose paint. Fill any cracks or holes and sand them smooth. Prime the walls if necessary, especially if applying over a dark or uneven surface.
- Measurement & Cutting: Measure the wall height and add approximately 10cm (4 inches) for trimming at the top and bottom. Cut your first strip, ensuring the pattern is oriented correctly. Subsequent strips should be cut to match the pattern of the previous one.
- Applying Paste: Apply the recommended wallpaper paste evenly to the back of the wallpaper strip, following the manufacturer's instructions. Allow the paste to 'book' for the time specified (usually a few minutes).
- Hanging: Hang the first strip vertically, allowing the extra 10cm to overlap the ceiling and skirting board. Smooth the paper onto the wall using a clean brush or roller, working from the center outwards to remove air bubbles.
- Joining Strips: Hang subsequent strips, carefully butting the edges together without overlapping. Ensure the pattern matches precisely before smoothing.
- Trimming: Once the strip is in place, use a sharp blade or trimming wheel to carefully cut away the excess paper at the ceiling and skirting board.
Compatibility:
This wallpaper is suitable for application on most interior walls that are properly prepared. It is compatible with standard wallpaper adhesives. It is best suited for dry interior rooms such as bedrooms and playrooms. Avoid areas with high moisture, like bathrooms or kitchens, unless specifically rated for such environments (check product specifications if unsure).
Care:
- Cleaning: For general dust and light marks, gently wipe the wallpaper with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or excessive water, as this can damage the finish and the paper.
- Maintenance: Periodically check for any peeling at the edges and re-adhere with appropriate wallpaper adhesive if necessary.
