It is designed for standard side-mount cisterns using a 1/2-inch thread. It will not work with front-mount or top-button systems.
Generally, only an adjustable wrench is required to tighten the fixing nut.
The spindle is provided at 160mm. It is not designed to be shortened without potentially compromising the integrity of the lever.
The product includes the lever assembly; ensure your existing internal lift arm is in good condition to attach to the new spindle.
Wipe down with a clean, soft cloth and mild soapy water. Do not use abrasive scouring pads.
Check the internal fixing nut to ensure it is tightened firmly against the cistern wall; use an adjustable wrench if necessary.
Verify that the spindle is correctly connected to the internal lifting arm and that there is no slack in the linkage.
Ensure the rubber washer/seal is positioned correctly on the inside of the cistern between the lever and the tank wall.
Before installation, ensure the water supply to the cistern is turned off and the tank is drained. Remove the existing lever by unscrewing the nut from the inside of the cistern. Insert the new Thomas Dudley lever through the side aperture, ensuring the seal is properly seated to prevent leaks. Tighten the fixing nut securely, but avoid over-tightening to prevent cracking the ceramic or plastic cistern wall.
Compatibility: This unit is designed for side-mount configurations only. Always verify that your current lever uses a 1/2-inch thread connection.
Care: Clean the chrome finish periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners or acidic chemicals, as these can pit or dull the silver finish over time.
