RUST-OLEUM® Hard Hat Aerosol Topcoats 2169 are based on a fast drying short oil soya alkyd. The products are based on lead- and chromate free pigments. Recommended Uses: Should be used on new, bare or slightly rusted steel surfaces. Intended to be applied on small areas or for touch up. Should be used in light industrial exposures, normal humidity and interior applications and should be recoated with RUST-OLEUM Hard Hat Topcoats. Specifications Size: 500 ml Appearance: Flat Colour: Red Anti Rust Propellant: Dimethyl ether Recommended film thickness: 25 µm dry, equals averagely 80 µm wet VOC-content: 630 g/l Drying times: 20°C/50% r.v: To touch: 15 minutes To handle: 30 minutes To recoat: Within 1 hour or after 48 hours Full hardness 7 days Heat resistance: 100°C (dry heat) Coverage: Theoretical: 2.5 m² per spray can at 25 µm dry Practical: Practical coverage depends on many factors such as porosity and roughness of the substrate and material losses during application. The range of Hard Hat Primers are specifically designed to protect painted metal surfaces from rust and corrosion. Easily applied, the spay paint penetrates deep into the metal to eradicate rust leaving the surface protected and ready for painting. Its corrosion beating formula, allows the primer to be applied to both slightly rusted and rust free surfaces. The grey primer is perfect for lighter top coats, whilst the red is ideal for darker tones for the perfect finish. Lead and chromate free, Hard Hat Primers prevents the release of harmful fumes being emitted when applied and when welded.
