Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the knife is fully retracted before attempting to change the blade.
- Use the blade shifter to retract the blade completely.
- Release the interlock nose mechanism (often by pressing a button or lever, refer to specific markings on the tool if unsure).
- Remove the old blade carefully.
- Insert a new Stanley 99E compatible blade, ensuring it is correctly oriented.
- Re-engage the interlock nose mechanism to secure the new blade.
- Use the blade shifter to extend the blade to the desired position.
Compatibility: This trimming knife is designed to use Stanley 99E type blades. Ensure any replacement blades are specifically compatible with this model for safe and effective operation.
Care:
- Keep the blade mechanism clean from dust and debris. A small brush can be helpful.
- Apply a small amount of light machine oil or silicone lubricant to the blade shifter and mechanism periodically to ensure smooth operation, especially after exposure to moisture.
- Always retract the blade fully when not in use and before storing.
- Store the knives and spare blades in the provided organiser to prevent damage and loss.
- Wipe the body with a dry or slightly damp cloth as needed. Avoid harsh solvents.
