Full details

The ESP Megapult is designed for carp anglers who require precise, high-volume baiting over short to medium distances. Ideal for delivering up to sixty 14mm boilies at once, it offers significant efficiency gains during long sessions; however, its specialized design is best suited for boilie-based feeding rather than heavy groundbait or particle mixes.

FAQs

Can I use this for particles like hemp or corn?

While it is specifically optimized for 14mm boilies, it can handle larger particles, but small particles like hemp may fall through the pouch design.

Are spare elastics available?

Yes, ESP offers spare elastics and pouches for the Megapult to help you maintain your equipment over time.

How do I clean the Megapult?

Simply rinse the frame and pouch with fresh water and wipe it dry with a soft cloth after use.

What is the maximum range of the Megapult?

It is designed primarily for short to medium-range baiting (up to 40 yards depending on bait weight and user force).

Does the orange finish fade?

Like most high-visibility plastics, it may fade slightly with prolonged exposure to harsh UV, but the material integrity remains the same.

Troubleshooting

Elastic is twisting during use

Ensure the brass swivel inserts are clean and free of debris. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the swivel if it becomes stiff.

Poor accuracy or erratic flight

Check that the elastic on both sides is pulled back with equal force and the pouch is positioned correctly in the center before release.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Capable of launching large quantities of boilies in a single shot
High-visibility color reduces the risk of loss on the bank
Rugged alloy construction ensures long-term durability
Brass swivel design minimizes elastic twist and tangling
Replacement parts like elastic and pouches are easily available

Cons

Not optimized for heavy or sticky groundbait mixes
May require significant physical effort for long-range performance
Large size makes it slightly bulkier to pack than compact alternatives

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure peak performance, inspect the elastic before each session for signs of cracking or perishing due to sunlight exposure. The Megapult is designed for direct use with round baits, primarily 14mm boilies. When not in use, store the catapult out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry place to prevent the latex elastic from degrading. If the elastic loses tension or the pouch shows wear, the ESP system allows for simple field replacements. Use a damp cloth to wipe down the alloy frame if it becomes coated in bait residue or mud to prevent the finish from degrading over time.
