Product Information

Full details

The Under Armour HeatGear Short Sleeve Compression T-Shirt is designed for athletes and fitness enthusiasts who require high-performance base layers that manage moisture during intense training sessions. Its primary benefit is the superior sweat-wicking capability combined with strategic ventilation, making it ideal for keeping the body cool and dry; however, users should be aware that the compression fit is extremely tight, which may not be preferred by those looking for a relaxed or loose-fitting garment.

FAQs

Should I size up for this shirt?

The shirt is designed as a compression fit. If you prefer a slightly less restrictive feel, you may choose to size up, but keep in mind that the wicking performance is most effective when the fabric remains in contact with your skin.

Is this shirt suitable for cold weather?

This is a HeatGear product, which is intended for warm to hot weather. For cold weather, Under Armour's ColdGear line is recommended.

Can I use fabric softener with this shirt?

It is not recommended to use fabric softener, as it can leave a coating on the fabric that prevents the moisture-wicking technology from working effectively.

What is the benefit of the raglan sleeves?

Raglan sleeves eliminate the shoulder seam, reducing friction and allowing for greater freedom of movement during athletic activity.

Will the color fade quickly?

When washed cold with like colors, the material is designed to resist fading, though direct sun exposure while drying should be avoided.

Troubleshooting

Loss of compression after many washes

Ensure you are using the 'cold' setting and avoiding high-heat tumble drying, which degrades the elastic fibers.

Fabric irritation or chafing

Verify the size is correct; if the shirt is too small, the fabric will pull excessively, causing the seams to rub against the skin.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Extremely lightweight and breathable
Effective sweat-wicking and quick-drying performance
Durable seam construction prevents irritation
Excellent range of motion for active use

Cons

Tight compression fit may feel restrictive for some
Blue color option may show sweat marks more than darker colors
Specific care instructions required to maintain elasticity

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This compression shirt is designed to be worn as a base layer directly against the skin to maximize moisture wicking. To maintain the elasticity and performance of the HeatGear material, follow these care steps:

Machine wash cold with like colors to prevent color bleeding.
Use a non-chlorine bleach detergent only when necessary.
Tumble dry on low heat settings; avoid high heat as it can damage the compression fibers.
Do not iron or dry clean the garment, as these processes can degrade the specialized fabric structure.
