Calibra Veterinary Diet Hypoallergenic wet dog food is an ideal nutritional solution for pet owners managing dogs with chronic dermatosis, excessive hair loss, or suspected food sensitivities. By utilizing a restricted-ingredient profile centered on rabbit and insect protein, this diet minimizes the risk of adverse immune responses; however, it is a specialized therapeutic feed that should only be served under the direct guidance of a veterinarian to ensure it meets your dog’s specific long-term health requirements.

This is a dietetic feed formulated for adult dogs. Please consult your veterinarian before feeding this to a puppy to ensure it meets all growth requirements.
Insect protein is highly digestible and considered a 'novel' protein, meaning most dogs have not been exposed to it, making it unlikely to trigger an allergic reaction.
The duration depends on the diagnosis. Often, it is used for an initial 3 to 8 weeks, but if symptoms resolve, it may be used long-term as directed by your vet.
The recipe uses pea flour as an alternative source of nutrition, avoiding many common grains that cause sensitivities.
While this diet is focused on skin and allergies, the protein levels are controlled. Always check with your vet if your dog has pre-existing organ conditions.
Try warming the food slightly to enhance the aroma or mix in a very small amount of warm water.
Extend the transition period over 7–10 days rather than a rapid switch to allow the gut microbiome to adjust.
Consult your veterinarian to verify that no treats or hidden allergens (like flavored chew toys or toothpaste) are being consumed.
Before starting your dog on Calibra Veterinary Diet, always schedule a consultation with your vet. Do not mix this food with standard treats or human table scraps, as even small amounts of an allergen can invalidate an elimination diet trial. Store opened cans in the refrigerator and use them within 48 hours to maintain freshness and palatability. Ensure your dog always has access to clean, fresh drinking water. Keep the cans in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the nutritional value of the Omega oils.
