Product Information

Full details

The Crystal-Direct Monza Solid Agathe Grey GRP No Glass Right Hand Open Front Door is designed for homeowners seeking enhanced security, superior insulation, and a modern aesthetic. Its key benefit is the combination of a robust GRP construction with an integrated high-security Kubu smart alerting system, offering peace of mind and potential energy savings. A minor caveat is that the door is handed (right-hand opening when viewed from the outside), requiring confirmation of the correct orientation before purchase. This door features double glazing, a high-density polyurethane foam core, and a 70mm frame depth for excellent thermal performance.

FAQs

What does GRP stand for?

GRP stands for Glass Reinforced Plastic, a strong and durable composite material used for the door's skin.

Is the Kubu system ready to use out of the box?

The door is equipped with a high-security locking system compatible with Kubu. While the door is designed to work with Kubu, the actual Kubu sensors and their integration/setup with your smart home system may require additional steps or subscription services as per Kubu's own product requirements.

What are the overall dimensions of the door including the cill?

The total dimensions, including the PVC cill, are 890mm in width and 2090mm in height.

How is the door handed?

The door is described as 'Right Hand Open' and is handed when viewed from the outside. This means the hinges are on the right side, and the door opens inwards from the right.

What is the U-value of this door?

The door has an excellent U-value of 1.0 W/m²K, indicating high thermal efficiency.

What materials are used in the door's construction?

The door features a GRP skin and a high-density polyurethane foam core, combined with a double-glazed toughened safety unit and a PVC cill.

What is the warranty period for this door?

The product comes with a 10-year guarantee.

Troubleshooting

Door does not close properly

Check for any obstructions around the frame or hinges. Ensure the door is correctly aligned within the frame. Misalignment may require adjustment of the hinges or frame.

Kubu system not alerting

Verify that the Kubu sensors are correctly installed and paired with the Kubu hub/app. Check battery levels in the sensors and ensure the Kubu app is running and notifications are enabled on your smart device.

Poor thermal performance (drafts)

Inspect the weather seals around the door frame for damage or gaps. Ensure the door is fully closing and latching correctly. Check the integrity of the GRP skin and foam core for any signs of damage.

Lock is stiff or difficult to operate

Lubricate the lock mechanism with a graphite-based lubricant. Ensure the key is fully inserted and turned correctly. Check for any foreign objects in the lock cylinder.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Superior thermal insulation significantly reduces heat loss and energy costs.
  • Integrated smart security system (Kubu) provides advanced home protection.
  • Robust GRP construction offers excellent durability and weather resistance.
  • Stylish Agathe Grey finish enhances curb appeal.
  • Comes with all necessary hardware for a straightforward installation.
  • Environmentally conscious design with high energy efficiency.

Cons

  • Specific hand orientation (right-hand opening) requires careful selection.
  • While Kubu is integrated, the smart alerting service itself may have associated subscription costs or requirements not detailed here.
  • GRP doors may require specific cleaning agents to maintain their finish.
  • Weight at 50.0 kg may necessitate professional installation.

Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions

Setup:

  1. Ensure the door opening is correctly measured and prepared for a right-hand opening door.
  2. The door frame, lock, handle, and cill are included. Professional installation is recommended due to the door's weight (50.0 kg) and the need to correctly integrate the locking and Kubu system.
  3. Verify that the dimensions (890mm x 2090mm including cill) fit the prepared opening.

Compatibility:

  • The high-security locking system is designed to work with the Kubu intelligent alerting system. Ensure you have compatible Kubu sensors or are prepared to install them as per Kubu's guidelines.
  • The door is designed for standard residential external door frames.

Care:

  • Clean the GRP skin and PVC cill with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents which can damage the finish.
  • Periodically check the locking mechanism and hinges for smooth operation.
  • Ensure the area around the threshold is kept clear of debris to prevent obstruction.
