Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Preparation: Ensure the exhaust system is cool to the touch and the vehicle is safely supported.
- Cleaning: Clean the area around the damage with a wire brush to remove rust, dirt, and loose particles.
- Application: Apply the CarPlan Exhaust Repair Paste generously to the damaged area. For larger splits, consider using exhaust repair bandages.
- Assembly: If working on joints, smear the paste on pipe inserts and joint faces before assembly. Tighten all clamps and manifold assemblies.
- Curing: Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes. The heat from the exhaust will cure and harden the paste.
Compatibility
CarPlan Exhaust Repair Paste is compatible with most exhaust systems found in vehicles. However, it's essential to verify that the product is suitable for the specific material of your exhaust system (e.g., steel, stainless steel).
Care
- After application, avoid washing the treated area for at least 24 hours to allow the paste to fully harden.
- Regularly inspect the repaired area for any signs of deterioration or leaks.
- Store the product in a cool, dry place to prevent it from drying out.
