The Sealey Brake Disc Caliper (VS0571) is a professional-grade measuring tool designed for mechanics and automotive enthusiasts who need to quickly assess brake disc wear. Its primary benefit is the long-body architecture that enables measurement of brake disc thickness without removing the vehicle's wheel, saving significant labor time during routine maintenance. While highly efficient for standard brake servicing, it is important to note that the tool features a metric-only scale, which may require conversion for users accustomed to imperial measurements.

It is designed for most motorcycles, cars, and commercial vehicles, provided there is enough space between the wheel spokes to access the disc.
No, the primary advantage of the VS0571 is its long body, which allows you to reach the disc through the wheel rim.
The scale provides measurements in 1mm increments.
No, the tool uses a metric scale exclusively.
Store in a clean, dry toolbox, ensuring the measuring tips are not subject to heavy weight or impact.
Clean the plunger shaft with a clean cloth and apply a small amount of light machine oil to the spring mechanism.
Ensure the caliper arms are held flush and square against the disc surface to prevent angle-induced errors.
There is no complex setup required for this tool; it is ready for use immediately upon unboxing. To ensure long-term accuracy, keep the plunger mechanism clean and free of brake dust or road grime. If the plunger becomes sticky, a light application of a workshop-grade lubricant can restore smooth operation. Always store the caliper in a dry place, such as a tool chest drawer or a protective foam organizer, to prevent bending the measuring arms or damaging the calibration scale.
