FAQs

What is the maximum water pressure this hose can handle?

The hose has a maximum working pressure of 10 bar.

Can I use this hose for hot water?

Yes, the hose has a maximum working temperature of 90°C, making it suitable for hot water lines.

What type of threads does this hose have?

It features a 15mm compression female BSP thread at one end and a 3/4" female BSP thread at the other.

Is this hose suitable for kitchen sinks?

While it can be used for water connections, it is specifically designed and recommended for bath taps due to its thread sizes and length.

How do I clean the stainless steel braiding?

You can clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh or abrasive cleaning chemicals.

What should I do if I notice a leak?

Immediately turn off the water supply. Check that both connections are tightened appropriately. If the leak persists, inspect the fittings for damage or worn seals.

Can I cut this hose to a shorter length?

No, flexible hoses like this are not designed to be cut. Attempting to cut it may compromise the integrity of the connections and its ability to hold pressure.

Troubleshooting

Hose is leaking at the connection

Turn off the water supply. Ensure the thread seal tape (if used) is correctly applied. Tighten the connection slightly (do not overtighten). If the issue persists, check the washer or seal within the fitting and ensure the mating surface is clean and undamaged.

Reduced water flow

Turn off the water supply. Disconnect the hose and check both ends for debris or blockages. Clean the inside of the hose and connections. Ensure the tap valve is fully open and not obstructed.

Hose appears kinked or stressed

Ensure the hose length is appropriate for the installation. Avoid sharp bends. Reposition the hose to allow for a gentle curve, reducing strain on the connections and internal flow.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Robust construction with stainless steel braiding for durability.
  • Versatile connection options with specific BSP thread sizes.
  • Suitable length for tight installations, preventing kinking.
  • Reliable performance under standard home water pressure and temperature.

Cons

  • Specific thread sizes may limit compatibility with non-standard fittings.
  • Primarily designed for bath taps, not explicitly for sinks or other fixtures.
  • Requires basic DIY plumbing knowledge for installation.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Ensure the water supply to the tap is turned off.
  2. Unscrew the old flexible hose from both the tap valve and the water supply.
  3. Clean the connection threads on the tap valve and the water supply.
  4. Hand-tighten the 15mm compression female BSP end onto the tap valve, then use a wrench to tighten a further half to one full turn (do not overtighten).
  5. Hand-tighten the 3/4" female BSP end onto the water supply connection, then use a wrench to tighten a further half to one full turn.
  6. Slowly turn the water supply back on and check for leaks at both connection points.

Compatibility:

  • This hose is designed for connections requiring a 15mm compression female BSP fitting on one end and a 3/4" female BSP fitting on the other.
  • Ideal for connecting bath taps to standard water supply points.
  • May not be compatible with systems using different thread standards or sizes.

Care:

  • Periodically check the hose for any signs of wear, damage, or leaks.
  • Clean the exterior with a damp cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure connections remain secure but do not overtighten, as this can damage the fittings.
