Product Information
Full details
The Korda Spinner Swivel (Size 11) is an essential terminal tackle component designed for carp anglers who demand efficiency and versatility when constructing Spinner or Ronnie rigs. Its primary benefit is the specialized wide clip that allows for rapid hook changes without the need to manipulate wire, saving time during high-action sessions. While it provides excellent mechanics, users must ensure they pair it with appropriate shrink tubing or kickers to maintain the correct hook presentation.

FAQs
What hook patterns work best with this swivel?
The Korda Spinner Swivel is highly recommended for use with Krank or Kurv hook patterns.
Do I need tools to change the hook?
No, the wide clip design allows you to change hooks by hand without needing to open or close any wire.
What is the best way to secure the hook to the swivel?
You should use a medium kicker or shrink tube to cover the connection and maintain the correct angle.
Is this swivel size compatible with all rigs?
It is specifically designed for the Spinner and Ronnie rigs; it may not be suitable for traditional bottom bait or pop-up presentations.
How do I prevent the swivel from reflecting light?
The swivel comes with a factory-applied non-reflective finish specifically designed for underwater stealth.
Troubleshooting
Hook detaching during the cast
Ensure your kicker or shrink tube is pushed sufficiently far over the eye of the swivel to lock the hook securely in place.
Swivel not rotating freely
Check that the shrink tube or kicker is not over-tightened against the body of the swivel, which can inhibit the hinge movement.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Significantly reduces time spent changing hooks during active fishing sessions
- Reliable, high-strength construction for demanding carp angling
- Non-reflective finish helps maintain rig discretion
- Perfectly compatible with popular hook patterns like the Krank or Kurv
Cons
- Requires proper application of a kicker or shrink tube for correct operation
- Limited to specific rig styles compared to standard swivels
- Size 11 may be too small for heavy-duty main lines or leaders
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To set up the rig, thread your chosen hook onto the swivel's wide clip. Secure the hook by sliding a piece of shrink tube or a pre-formed kicker over the connection until it covers the swivel eye and the hook eye. Carefully steam the shrink tube to lock it in place.
Compatibility is highest when paired with Korda Krank or Kurv hook patterns. After each session, inspect the clip for any signs of metal fatigue or bending, and ensure the shrink tube remains tight. Rinse with fresh water if fishing in saltwater or silty environments to prevent corrosion or grit buildup.
