Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Flameko Verona Fireplace Insert is designed for straightforward installation. It is an ideal choice for 16-inch or 18-inch fireplace openings, making it a perfect replacement for existing electric or gas fires. Ensure your opening's dimensions match these specifications for a snug fit. The unit is also suitable for media walls or wall-mounted installations, thanks to its unique front-discharging heat system that keeps the rear cool. No complex venting or chimney is required, simply position the insert, ensure adequate clearance as per the user manual, and plug it into a standard electrical outlet.
- Measure Your Opening: Before installation, carefully measure the width and height of your existing fireplace opening to confirm it is 16 inches or 18 inches.
- Position the Unit: Gently slide the Verona insert into the prepared opening or mount it securely onto your media wall structure.
- Connect Power: Plug the appliance into a grounded electrical socket. Ensure the power cord is not pinched or obstructed.
- Initial Power On: Use the remote control or manual controls to power on the unit and test all functions, including heat and flame effects.
Compatibility
- Fireplace Openings: Compatible with standard 16-inch or 18-inch fireplace openings.
- Media Walls: Excellently suited for integration into custom media walls due to its front-venting heat design.
- Replacements: An ideal replacement unit for older electric fires or sealed-off gas fires.
- Electrical: Requires a standard household electrical supply (e.g., 220-240V, 50Hz in the UK).
Care
Proper care ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Flameko Verona Fireplace Insert.
- Cleaning the Exterior: Regularly dust the exterior surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. For more persistent marks, use a slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
- Air Intake/Outlet Grilles: Periodically check the air intake and outlet grilles for any dust or lint build-up. Gently clean these areas with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner attachment to maintain efficient heat circulation. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
- Light Source: The LED lights are designed for long life and typically do not require replacement. If there's an issue with the flame effect, refer to the troubleshooting section.
- Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure it is clean, dry, and stored in a safe location away from extreme temperatures and moisture.
- Remote Control: Keep the remote control clean and dry. Replace batteries as needed (usually AAA or similar, refer to manual for specifics).
